For becoming veterinary doctor, the basic qualification is B.V.Sc. & A.H (Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry) degree. The duration of the degree is 5.5 years in which 4 years for the teaching of different courses which are mandatory for the degree and 1.5 year duration for the compulsory rotatory internship program.As per minimum standard of veterinary education, there are 17 teaching departments in addition to a teaching veterinary hospital complex in every veterinary college.
